Today’s exhortation – salt and light

In my work and ministry, I come across lots of people who’ve been taken advantage of or are hurting and so it brings home the need to encourage people. Some of them appear to have it all together but they’re hurting inside. Even in our close circles, there’re a lot of people going through stuff. People need someone to encourage them. They need to hear, “everything is going to be alright,” “God’s not done with you yet, your best is yet to come,” “you are not alone, God is with you,” “God heals the broken hearted,” “be strong your salvation draws nigh,” “God will supply all your needs.” etc. These are truths that we’ve experienced many times in our lives and we also know how it feels to have someone tell us these things when we need to hear them.

We carry the presence of The Lord and wherever His presence is, there’s peace which surpasses all understanding, there’s unspeakable joy and His perfect love casts out fear. Therefore, whatever environment we step into, we’re to leave the fragrance of Christ there and who ever we come across should be impacted with hope and peace. There’s a lot of darkness in the world, but we’re the light of the world. There’s a lot of pain in the world, but we’re the salt of the earth and salt heals wounds. We’ve a mandate from The Lord – “Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.” (Matthew‬ ‭10:8‬)
