Thank you from Mike – to Nick!

Hello everyone, this is Mike Jones here.

In last week’s Prayer Letter, you would have read the following, written by PC Nick Sharpe:

“Monday is my last day as a full-time cop after 30 years and it’s made me ponder about Christian Leaders in the Police like Derek Willott and what eternal testimonies am I building”.

On Monday a gathering was held at HQs by Nick’s Colleagues and friends to say goodbye. Nick was late arriving; someone commented, ‘Nick is never late, he’s probably met someone he hasn’t seen in a while in the car park and stopped for a chat’.

That comment sums up the ‘eternal testimony’ Nick has built. As well as being a first-class copper and leader of Surrey CPA for many many years, what marks Nick out is that he always has time for people. Only God knows the countless lives Nick has touched over the years, he has been a real blessing to me and so many others.

The Bible Verse that best applies to Nick is –

Matthew 25 verse 40: ‘Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me’.

Thank you, Nick, for your life time of Police Service, it is great to know you are re-joining Surrey Police shortly in a Police Staff role.

Mike Jones.
