David Turtle

Dave is passionate about encouraging active Christian projects such as Street Pastors, Food bank Schemes, youth offender diversion charities and local churches to support police priorities. He was able to develop an Appropriate Adult Scheme in Hammersmith with the full support of local churches, and also supported various Commissioners since 2005 through the Samurai Group, developing and fostering good relations to all diverse groups. Dave has have spent most of his career with the Metropolitan Police dealing with street issues where he has been able to offer compassion and practical support to vulnerable people, often working closely with housing agencies and community mental health teams.

In 2005 Dave worked with the Korean churches in New Malden to set up a Third Party Reporting site in a church which resulted in more confidence in reporting crimes to the police service. Dave, with thanks for his efforts, received an official invite from the Korean Ambassador to visit Korea for a 5 day official visit.

Jesus Christ encourages His children to let His light shine through our actions and that is what I try to obey by trying to meet the needs I meet. As the pioneer of DNA and forensic science remarked ‘every contact leaves a trace’ I hope to leave a positive contact through every encounter.
