Christopher Williams – Integrative Christian Counsellor, ACC Accredited (M101755), MBACP (566712) PSA Registered 044711.
I am 61 years old, married, with 3 adult children. My Christian faith is an important part of who I am and I belong to a local Anglican Church. Following a 30 year career in the Metropolitan Police, I studied at the London School of Theology between 2001 and 2005 gaining a Higher Education Diploma in Integrative Christian Counselling and a full Honours Degree in Theology and Counselling. The ‘Waverley’ model of counselling works from the premise that we are made in God’s image and all which that implies in terms of being relational and responsible individuals with God given needs for acceptance, self worth and significance. Following the Degree, I also attained a Diploma in short term work with Westminster Pastoral Foundation. I employ an integrative approach which takes account of the many ways by which people can be helped through different theoretical models and with methods of application, some of which are specific to the particular model and others which are universal¹. I am currently a fully accredited member with the Association of Christian Counsellors and I am a Member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists and registered with the Health Professionals Council. I am also a qualified supervisor of individuals and groups. My practice is based at my own house in Pinner, Middlesex, in a dedicated room separate to the family home. I have previously worked in counselling centres with a number of agencies during and subsequent to professional qualification. I am a Trustee on the Board of the Association of Christian Counsellors.
¹ Main models integrated: Person Centred, Christian Relational, Psychodynamic, CBT, REBT, TA, Gestalt & Existential, Narrative & Mindfulness.
