Psalm 8

Today’s exhortation – We’re all beautiful

Calling people ugly or making fun of their appearance is wrong! No one is ugly or beautiful, to God we are all beautiful and worth dying for on the cross! I believe we’ve been created to express an indescribable God and even though we are fundamentally made in His image and likeness, we all look different. The Arab, Caucasian, Black, Hebrew, Asian and Oriental are all different expressions of Him! He’s also made us in all shapes and sizes, some of us are fat, muscular, slim and thin. We’ve big noses, small noses, small ears, big eyes etc. These are all also a display of the vastness of who He is.

One day, David was meditating on what is man and his purpose and the awe of who we are hit him so he wrote, “When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have ordained, What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You visit him? For You have made him a little lower than the angels, And You have crowned him with glory and honour.” (Psalms‬ ‭8‬:‭3-5‬). “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” (Psalm‬ ‭139:14‬). In a sense we are a wonder! As many as we are, we are all unique with unique signatures in our DNA and fingerprints. We are awesome. Hallelujah!
