Promise

Today’s exhortation – God promised us!

It appears throughout the bible that God likes to be reminded of His promises. It’s not because He has forgotten them, but it’s an invitation for us to partner with Him to bring them to pass in our lives. A church leader shared this; he promised his children that after church he would take them to their favourite restaurant, the children were very excited! After church he was asked to attend a leaders meeting and told his children the outing would have to be cancelled. However, his children refused to accept this. He was pummelled over and over with statements of, “You said,” “You promised!” until finally he had no choice but to give in. At that moment he heard God say to him, “I wished that My children would hold Me to My promises the way that your children hold you to yours!”

God says, “You who make mention of the LORD, do not keep silent, And give Him no rest till He establishes…”(‭Isaiah‬ ‭62‬:‭6-7‬). He’s not asking us to beg Him, He’s asking us to give Him no rest! We qualify for the promises because it is written, “And now that you belong to Christ, you are the true children of Abraham. You are his heirs, and God’s promise to Abraham belongs to you.” Galatians‬ ‭3:29‬). He promises to meet our every need and so if you’ve a need, remind Him and give Him no rest until He brings it to pass. If He said it, then He will do it. Amen!
