Prayer

Prayer Letter from Alice

This speaks volumes.

The following does too. The Psalmist when writing this must have been in a valley – a valley of despair perhaps. Be encouraged by Psalm 121:

I look up to the mountains;
Does my strength come from mountains?
No, my strength comes from God,
Who made Heaven, and earth, and mountains

Today, may you know the Might of Your Heavenly Loving Father, the Creator of the Heavens and the Earth. We are tired, very tired, but:

Your Guardian God won’t fall asleep

In His Grip.

Prayer Letter from Alice

Hello Everyone.

Recently I attended a Police zoom Prayer Meeting where only one other person was able to attend. We had a very special time together. We had only met each other once before. I was intrigued by what seemed to be a tea towel hanging up in the distance behind her (she was sitting in her kitchen).

We spent precious chatting time together and we Prayed about those things that were on our minds. Eventually, because it so intrigued me, I asked about the “tea towel”. My friend turned around, looked at what I could see, stood up and removed it from her fridge. It was a blank sheet of green paper with small slits in it and narrow sheets of red paper had been woven in between these slits. Her Daughter had created it and as ever had brought it home and it was now on display. I have continued to think about that beautiful yet so simple piece of art work. I did at the time express to her Mum, that there would not be another one in the world quite like that.

My thoughts went on… You and I are like that, we are a one off, each one of us totally different to everyone else.

Ephesians 2 verse 4 – 20:

“I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which He has called you.”

That is indeed my Prayer for you today. No matter how flimsy and ineffective you may feel, you are God’s Valued Child in this world today. As my friend’s Daughter’s creation caught my eye, so will others around you be aware of you and want to know you.

Many Blessings
In Him

Prayer Letter from Alice

Hello Everyone,

A personal word of thanks to Our Lord.

On “Eunice” Friday, my younger Daughter Rachel was travelling on a very early train from Bucks to London; meeting with Colleagues from the UK who work for an Australian Firm.

Brakes suddenly applied at full speed. Carriage started to rock and much noise. A tree and bushes eventually crashed alongside her carriage. Train stopped. Decisions were made that the train was still ok to continue its journey on to London. Rachel was in the last carriage and was grateful for it to move, “Did the train behind know to stop?”

On leaving the train, Rachel could see the damage on all carriages. Then she saw a trunk of a tree had impaled itself into the driver’s compartment. He was not physically injured.

Please join me in thanks to The Lord for Rachel’s (and others) safety.

Today we see what is going on in our world. We are weary because of the last two years and now this. May God show His Power. Amen. 2Cor: 10.4:

The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world.
On the contrary, they have Divine Power to demolish strongholds.

In His Grip

Prayer Letter from Alice

Hello Everyone,

I received the following this week from a recipient of the PL. Although written a few weeks ago, God’s Word is always in season.

“At the start of the year, I felt God gave me 3 verses to focus on during the year. ‘Be still and know that I am God’ was one of the verses.

I hurt my back in November and am on restricted duties as a result. It has been a long slow process waiting to get a proper assessment and physio.

I have been feeling particularly discouraged this week. Your prayer letter reminded me of God’s encouragement to me at the start of the year, and was just what I needed to hear.“

“Be still and know that I am God”.

I read the following this week. On Friday when storm Eunice was making herself felt, in many parts of the UK, a Vicar in his large village opened up the doors where his Church met and invited people in. The village was mainly without electricity, but it was still working in the Church building. People came in with their flat mobiles, partook of hot drinks, food and warmth besides feeling good meeting up, with others.

The Vicar was told that the reason people came in was, and I quote: “Because the lights were on”.

“Because the lights were on”

That spoke volumes to me.

It may not be our Church buildings that encourage people to visit. However, Jesus has said about us in Mathew 5: 14 and 16

“You are the light of the world”

I pray that needy people will be drawn to you this coming week, so that you can share the Light that is in you because of Your Saviour.

In Him. His Love

Prayer Letter from Alice

Hello Everyone,

I trust you are well. Thank you for your on-going Prayers. As you will have seen Dame Lynne Owens is in the Main Media and John Sutherland has recovered well enough to go on a holiday during half term. Continued Prayers for both please.

I often congratulate Officers on their successful work, or send encouragement. You will see me doing that on Twitter; also, via email/face to face. I am so thrilled and proud of the work you do.

I read this week that short term success is easily forgotten but then I went on to read that our lives as Christians, is one great long success. God calls us to a life of different values to the ones that the world sets down.

We read that in Romans 12.1 (The Message version):

Paul says “So this is what I want you to do, God helping you – take your everyday, ordinary life, your sleeping, eating, going to work and walking around life and place it before God – as an offering”.

May you know His Enabling Power as you continue in your Police Work, during what I know are extremely difficult times.

Many Blessings in His Powerful Name,

Alice.

Prayer Letter from Alice

Hello Everyone,

Praise The Lord for answered Prayer.

I want to thank you for your Prayers for our former CC Lynne Owens. She has made a remarkable recovery. Please continue to join me in Prayer for her future. I am sure The Lord has a great plan for her to undertake. Lynne requested when I saw her, that I was to pass on her thanks to you for Praying for her. She is truly grateful.

Another person who needs Prayer; is a former Commander in The Met, John Sutherland. A strong Christian who is acknowledged by many people for the work he has done and continues to do. He has just had covid diagnosed. He has told me he really would appreciate our Prayers. He speaks regularly to Police all around the Country. He has commitments he wishes to keep.

Earlier this last week I heard from a recipient of the PL. He wrote, “When trying to support Colleagues, we can have clever answers, but all that we need to do, is be His Disciple as we were encouraged to be in an earlier PL and to be still and let Him do the talking through us”.

In the battles we are all in at the moment, in every area of our lives – Ps:46.10.

“Be still and know that I am God”.

Prayers this week for you all; that as you live In Him, your lives will show His Love to those who are hurting.

Many Blessings and please rest In Him.

Alice.
