Prayer Letter 16th September 2016

Hello Everyone,

Thank you for the replies to last week’s Prayer Letter. One reply was as follows-

“Thanks for that song.  I love that one too and it was great to walk into that today … particularly as I hit the ground running!!”

The writer went on to say-

“I had had a couple of shifts where I didn’t want to go to work … I’ve never felt like that before and didn’t want to feel it again!  In addition, I found me overreacting when I was dealing with my children, arguing with each other … looking back I believe it is down to the stress I found myself under.  I ended up going sick a day later with a migraine, again believing it to be down to the stress of the job”.

I can imagine a number of you will understand the feelings expressed in the above.

So I believe it is right to share the following with you below………..

On Sunday the visiting Speaker in our Church introduced his Sermon with the verse in Matthew, where Jesus calls His first Disciples. The verse starts with the word “Come”.   I stayed with that word for a little while; eventually catching up with the speaker’s thoughts a few moments later. It is such a gentle, caring word, “Come”.  Another verse in Matthew says “Come unto me, all you that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest”.  11.29.

With this I am going to leave a part of last week’s Chorus. “Lord I come before Your Throne of Grace; I find rest in your Presence and fullness of joy”.

I am inviting/encouraging you to take time out to “Come” and spend time with the Lord, in what I know is a very busy lifestyle that you lead. May you know His Peace, as you sit with Him.

God Bless you.

In Him

Alice.

Prayer Letter 9th September 2016

Hello everyone,

Last week I mentioned that we had had a very good time in our Prayer Group. Today we were giving thanks for so many answers to Prayer following that time.
Please can I encourage you to attend the Police Prayer Groups. There are several all over London. To find your nearest one please contact us by clicking here. If you are aware of other Christians around you, why not suggest to meet together for a short time to Pray.

Please pray for those police staff who are again facing renewed job uncertainty.

Save the date:

Celebration of Christianity in the Police Service: Tuesday 18th October, 6pm, Emmanuel Centre, Marsham Street, London.

Surrey Police Carol Service ” On Monday the 12th of December (evening time tbc) we are hoping to organise a Carol Service in Guildford. Further details will follow but please put the date in your diary as it would be wonderful to have an opportunity to get together at this special time. Thank you, Nick”

This week, I begin the 23rd year of my time as a Volunteer with SP. It is very difficult to believe it can be so long ago since I first joined SP as a Volunteer. I want to celebrate it by leaving with you a Chorus which is a Testimony of how I am; how I feel and how I know God is a Faithful God.

“Lord, I come before Your Throne of Grace. I find rest in Your Presence, and fullness of Joy.
In worship and wonder, I behold Your face, singing what a faithful God have I. What a faithful God have I, what a faithful God. What a faithful God have I, faithful in every way. Lord of mercy, You have heard my cry, through the storm You’re the beacon; my song in the night. In the shelter of Your Wings, hear my heart’s reply, singing what a faithful God have I. Lord, all Sovereign granting peace from Heaven, let me comfort those who suffer, with the comfort You have given. I will tell of Your great Love for as long as I live; Singing what a faithful God have I”

I Pray that this too is your testimony.

If you wish to contact me please click here, or leave a comment below.

Many Blessings as you continue to undertake those actions that he has called you to in Surrey, Sussex and the police services of London

.
With daily Prayers for all of you
Alice.

Prayer Letter 2nd September 2016

Hello everyone,

Last week I mentioned that I would shortly be attending the Baptismal Service of one of our PCSO’s. This I did with others from Surrey Police, including a former Officer who read the passage of Scripture from Luke 3. 21. “Jesus was also Baptised”. This happening for Ollie took place out in the countryside in the River Wey in Hants. At the moment this verse was read I had a true sense of the meaning of Jesus’s Baptism. It was a very powerful time for me, knowing that He too had been Baptised in a river.

Our continued Prayers please –

* Healing for Helen Collins.
* Both Chief Constable Olivia Pinkney in her new position in Hampshire and also our Surrey Chief Constable, Lynne Owens as she continues in her calling as the General Director in the National Crime Agency.
* Another Funeral in Surrey this week, this time for PC Sarah Crockford. Thinking of her Family, Friends and Colleagues and for those involved in the Service.

* In London please pray for continued peace on the streets, and a reduction in the peak in hate crime we are witnessing since the brexit referrendum

Again today a group of us have met  Prayer. There are Prayer Times and there are Prayer Times. This today was one of those special times where we were battling in Prayer, for those in the Group with specific happenings within the Force; yet sensing we were talking to a caring Father who loved us greatly and was there for us. At one point, one of our Inspectors said “HERE FOR SUCH AS THIS”. We gave thanks to God for placing His Children in such positions to deal with difficult problems and realising that He had called His Children to undertake these tasks. It was only then, that I knew the verse for today’s Prayer Letter. “You are here for such a time as this” Esther 4.14.
Again be encouraged no matter how tough things are right now, He is aware of where you are and He has called you to do the work you are doing. He trusts you and walks alongside you as you progress this calling.

You are all in my Daily Prayers.
God Bless you
In Him

Prayer Letter 19th August 2016

Hello everyone,

Appreciated Surrey Police’s support whilst I was out as part of Woking Street Angels last evening/night. Thank you, excellent and professional as ever, both Officers and CCTV. (“A” Level Exam results’ night……….. but we did not come across any students……….however, members of the public were around who appreciated and needed our support and that of SP/CCTV).

A report from a Sussex Officer who took young people from her Church to Newday.

I went to Newday with around 100 youth from my church, 34 of which are in my youth group. In our youth group alone, we had 3 girls saved and gave their lives to Jesus, 1 of which came from a different faith background and had wrestled over this for some time. We had multiple healings and so many filled with the Holy Spirit, memories made and friendships tighten.”

Finally for today. Some weeks ago I received the following from PCSO Oliver Greenaway; as you know I do not publish names, but Ollie has asked that I do so on this occasion.

Thank you for continuing to send out the prayer email to us all. I thought you might like to know I have taken the decision to become baptised by full immersion on Sunday 28th August in the Upper River Wey. I truly feel called to God’s work and this is my first public step. My faith journey has been an amazing one, and I’ve truly been blessed this year with God’s presence. Previously I was always so concerned and conscious what people might think about my Christian faith and belief in Christ. However at the start of the year, I had this sudden realisation; that what others think; it’s not important. However my belief in my God is most important. I am currently seeking a calling to work in Youth Ministry, which is incredible, as I thought I’d always be in the police!

The below verse has truly encouraged me; I am not alone in my faith, and not to be concerned with my faith;

If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first”, John 15:18-25

Thank you so much for sharing the above with us Ollie. May you know God’s direction over your future. It is a real privilege to know you and to see what has happened to you as God has walked alongside you and revealed Himself to you.

Please feel free to reply by adding a comment below. Alternatively you can contact LCPF by clicking here

May you all know that deep knowledge that Ollie has talked about today, as you continue your work/family life/friendships – In The Lord.

Many Blessings
Alice

Prayer Letter 22nd July 2016

Hello everyone,

I am preparing this PL a few days before I will be typing it at HQ’s for distribution. (Yes I am again able to drive after 6 weeks away! Thank you once more for your Prayers). As I prepare, today is being described as the hottest day of the year. Reference was made yesterday on Twitter of “Police in meltdown” in their uniforms. A reply came back “And there are those of us in heavy black leggings, jackets, a crash helmet, and sitting astride a machine that is a heat generator”. Yet again, so very many thanks to all of you as you continue to look after us.

  • Surrey: With the above in mind, please Pray for one of our Surrey Police Motor Cyclists – PC Stuart Nicholson, following a collision and air lifted to hospital; as mentioned in a Global email earlier; for his full recovery. Also for his family who are naturally very concerned.
  • It is that time again, when a number of you will be on Christian Camps and Beach Missions. Two Officers from Sussex will be working alongside me at Newday. Another Officer from Surrey will be cooking in the kitchen at New Wine. I don’t have details of New Wine, but I know we are expecting about 7,000 young people at Newday. Prayers for all such happenings please.
  • London: Prayers for all of the officers and staff who are working overtime, and had rest days cancelled as they seek to quell the disorder in the last week, and to reassure the communities of London

On Sunday, one of our Leaders told us of the time recently when he had been working in the garden. He could see that rain was on the way. ‘Must get the tools and equipment in the shed quickly and get indoors before it rains’. He contrasted that with the monsoon areas in the world; where it is necessary to stand and get wet in such rain. He went on to encourage us to stand in God’s Monsoon of Love and Blessings. As I thought about that, I was reminded of the “Sacred Space” I referred to a few weeks ago, which is in every one of us and needs filling. Into my thinking came the following Chorus:-

To be in your presence
To sit at Your feet
Where Your love surrounds me
And makes me complete
To rest in Your presence
Not rushing away
To cherish each moment
Here I would stay
This is my desire O Lord
This is my desire
This is my desire O Lord

This is my desire

Although I will be away at Newday, please feel free to add a comment below. I will be really pleased to hear from you.

I trust too that you are anticipating a much deserved holiday.

The PL will continue throughout August.

Many Blessings to all of you in the Forces that receive this PL, Surrey, Sussex and the forces that operate across London.

And with my Daily Prayers for you all.

Alice.

Prayer Letter 15th July 2016

Greetings to you all.

Thank you for the comeback to last week’s PL, including – “A lovely reminder of a lovely hymn! Also, “Very thought provoking” and “Many thanks for the recent prayer letter, it’s always a highlight in the week and gives an opportunity to get some Godly perspective during the working day!”

Messages / Prayers

  • Sussex: “(Please don’t get cross with me, – Alice; I too have not had my summer holiday either).  However, please can you place in your Diary the following date:- Monday 12thDecember. Sussex Police are holding their Carol Service at 7.30pm at St Peter’s Church in Brighton.” A number of us attended this Service last year, it was outstanding. I was so pleased I made the effort to be there. A large congregation of Police and local church goers.
  • Sussex: Prayer Please…….”There’s been a desire for a new Street Pastor Scheme to start up in Horsham Town for some time now, but progress has been slow and until last week, had ground to a halt.   Following continued Prayer and some discussions in the last week with a couple of local church folk, it looks like we may have  increased hope of getting some  momentum again”.
  • London: Please pray for patience as the Met continues with it’s programme of change. Pray for resilience for the officers and staff who continue to face the immense stress  and uncertainty that often accompanies change. Pray for our Leaders as they make difficult decisions.

This week, the Leader of the Sussex Police Christian Fellowship, asked that we should Pray for our Country at this time, so he has written the Bible section below.

“Over the past few years, the financial and resourcing structure of the Police Service has gone through what can only be described as a radical reform. Theresa May has often been at the forefront of that change and at times, as a Service we have directed our frustration, anger, disappointment towards her. When I saw she was in the running for Prime Minister, I have been personally challenged to Pray positively for her. So much so, that I felt the finger of God point at me and say ‘How dare you criticise those who I put in authority, do you not think I know what I am doing, for I promote and give authority’.  Now as I write, the second candidate has stepped back and Mrs May will be the next Prime Minister.

1 Timothy 2 1-3 says, ‘Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know. Pray especially for rulers and their governments to rule well so we can be quietly about our business of living simply, in humble contemplation. This is the way our Saviour God wants us to live.’

We see how our Country needs Leadership, I see a God that can do all things and asks us to partner with Him and to declare His Authority over this Country.  So I urge you to pray for Theresa May as there is no doubt she will need it. Pray that she will be given Christian counsel and that those who are alive in Jesus will be influencing the decision to direct our country”.

Please feel free to contact me or provide feedback by adding a comment below, or click here to provide feedback or requests to LCPF.

Many Blessings in His Name.

Alice.
