Today’s exhortation – we have come a long way

We are all on a journey in life. Indeed some may be far ahead in the journey but in the end we will all get to the expected end. This is especially demonstrated in the wilderness with the children of Israel. I have heard that the journey from Egypt to the promised land was a two week journey but it took them 40 years to get there. I believe even their delay worked out for their good because God was also doing a marvelous work in them. He had taken them from Slavery into freedom and their mindset had to change. They had to start thinking as sons and daughters and not slaves.

That’s what is going on with us now. Most of us had no concept of The Father’s love for us. We saw Him as an angry God waiting to punish us at every wrong turn. That’s far from His nature. The bible says, For His anger is but for a moment, His favour is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning. (Psalms 30:5). We have been used to a certain lifestyle but now as one who is born again, we are having to live by the spirit and not flesh. It takes time, so don’t be discouraged when you are not getting to the level you want to. As the scripture says…being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;(Philippians 1:6). Enjoy your day.

Today’s exhortation – God cares

In good times we say, “Praise The Lord, He is good” and in bad times, we say “God where are You? why did You do this to me?” The Lord cares. He cares so much that He even collects our tears. The bible says, “You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in Your bottle. You have recorded each one in Your book.” (Psalms‬ ‭56‬:‭8). We know that God is not slack concerning His promises as some count slackness (2 Peter 3:9). Therefore, being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in us will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ; (‭Philippians‬ ‭1‬:‭6‬).

The bible says, Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?…neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:35, 38, 39 ). We may not get our prayers answered sometimes, but it doesn’t mean God doesn’t love us. Bad things may happen to us, but it doesn’t mean He doesn’t care and we may grieve Him sometimes due to sin, but He still loves us. Amen
