Today’s exhortation – Let’s pray…

I recognise that for many of you, this may be the first time you’ll be hearing in detail about demonic oppression and so before we begin, I would like us to say a prayer. This is more so because what I’m about to teach will be engaging in spiritual warfare. “Our Heavenly Father we come to You in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. From my heart Lord I commit myself without reservation to You. I pray that nothing but Your will be done and that Thy name may be glorified. Take charge O God and use me simply as Your vessel for Your truth and Your Spirit. O Father touch and prepare our hearts to receive with meekness the ingrafted word that is able to save our souls. Take away Lord by Your Spirit, any barrier, any any hinderance, any preconceptions, any prejudice that may hinder the entrance of Your word! We thank You that the entrance of Your word gives light, so even the simple can understand. (Psalm 119:130)

Sovereign Lord we also thank You for Your promise that Your word shall not return to You void but shall accomplish Your desire and achieve the purpose for that thing which You sent it. (Isaiah 55:11). O Lord we claim that promise afresh today in Jesus Name. We bind now on earth every opposing or hindering force of the enemy that will hinder or frustrate Your purpose according to the authority vested in us by The Lord Jesus Christ. We thank You that what we bind on earth is bound in heaven. We rejoice in You Lord for the victory that You won for us on the cross. O God, remove now, any anxiety, apprehension or confusion from the minds of my brothers and sisters. Let Your glory rest upon them and their house and I cover all of them with the blood of Jesus. We thank You in Jesus Name and we’ll be careful to ascribe to You alone all the glory and honour. Amen!

Today’s exhortation – life study of Joseph

God’s plans for our lives doesn’t follow conventional wisdom and so it’s easy to assume that because things are difficult, it may not be God’s will. However, we’ll see that even though Joseph was called, the path wasn’t necessarily straight forward and obedience to God involves risk-taking. When Joseph decided to quietly divorce Mary, the bible says, “ an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.” (Matthew‬ ‭1:20‬). The angel’s directive to Joseph, to proceed with his marriage contradicted common sense and required deep trust in God. The path he was called to follow wasn’t “safe,” but it fulfilled God’s plan.

Marrying Mary in the face of her apparent infidelity may’ve brought criticism and ridicule from those around him and even made him the subject of gossip and jokes. But, despite all this, he was still obedient. The Lord says, “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isaiah‬ ‭55:9). God never said the journey will be easy, but the end, it will be worth it. “Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love Him.” (James‬ ‭1:12‬). Amen

Today’s exhortation – comfort, comfort

““Comfort, yes, comfort My people!” Says your God.” (Isaiah‬ ‭40:1‬). “As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you; and you will be comforted…”” Isaiah‬ ‭66:13‬.
The Lord wants wants us to quit worrying and trust that His word never fails. If you slept and woke up, that is a sign of God fulfilling His promise and letting you know you’re His beloved. The word of God says, “It is vain for you to rise up early, To sit up late, To eat the bread of sorrows; For so He gives His beloved sleep.” (Psalms‬ ‭127‬:‭2‬). He says, “My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” (Isaiah‬ ‭55:11‬).

His promises are not based on our faithfulness, but on His. It is written, “If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.” (II Timothy‬ ‭2‬:‭13‬). Also, your love for Him is not in vain. His word says, ““Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honour him. With long life I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation.”” (Psalms‬ ‭91:14-16‬). So brothers and sisters in The Lord Jesus, Peace, be still, and know that He is God! “The God of peace be with you all. Amen.” (Romans‬ ‭15:33‬).
