Today’s exhortation – Bitterroot judgement cont..

The bible says, ““No good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. Each tree is recognized by its own fruit. People do not pick figs from thornbushes, or grapes from briers. A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart…” (Luke‬ ‭6:43-45‬). God has set a law in motion which says we will reap what we sow. (Galatians‬ ‭6:7‬). And so naturally if we sow bitter judgements, we’ll reap them too. The good news is Jesus died to remove from us all the consequences sin including bitterroot judgements, but we’ve to confess our sins and repent to receive the full benefit of His sacrifice for us.

So how are they formed? Usually, children judge their parents and/or siblings for wounds suffered whilst growing up or during the course of life together. Sometimes as in the case of child abuse by parents or close relatives, the injuries are great and judgement seems justified. However whilst we are permitted to hold that person accountable for their actions, we are not permitted to bitterly judge them. When we do, we plant a seed of bitter judgement in our own lives which work like curses against us. Unfortunately as time goes on, this develops a root system in our hearts which in turn give out fruits later on in our lives. The weirdest part is we become like the person we are judging bitterly. Eg. if we judge our parents for being alcoholics or for being poor, if we’re not careful we will become like them too. Remember seeds bear the same fruit!

Today’s exhortation – a time of hope!

Though the state of play around the world is currently doom and gloom, I also sense hope and peace in what God will do for His children so it’s not a time to be fearful. There’s no denying the world is in turmoil. Terrorism, wars, rumours of wars, sexual promiscuity, decadence, exploitation of the poor, lack of fear of God, persecution, disregard for holiness and righteousness etc. We’re also see the righteous suffering and the wicked prospering. We see people cheat and take shortcuts and live large from their ill gotten gains and yet those who fear God and obey the law are constantly having to battle lack, hardships, injustice etc. But, in the midst of all of this mess, I believe The Lord is saying –

“Say to the righteous that it shall be well with them, For they shall eat the fruit of their doings.” (Isaiah‬ ‭3:10‬). “Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass.” (Psalms‬ ‭37:7‬) “God is not unjust; He will not forget your work and the love you have shown Him as you have helped His people and continue to help them.” Hebrews‬ ‭6:10‬). Do not be weary in doing good for in due season you shall surely reap if you faint not! (Galatians 6:9). Amen

Prayer Letter 20th January 2017

Hello Everyone,

I hope you are well.

  •  I continue to receive requests for Prayers for Officers and Staff with illnesses and concerns within their families.
  • Requests for Prayer also from those who are aware of Colleagues who are on restricted duties. I also believe that self-esteem partly disappears and adds to the problem such Colleagues are experiencing.
  • Pray for those officers policing some particularly sensitive protests taking place at the moment

I started this PL with “I hope you are well” and then promptly went into “Prayers for the sick”. So today I am asking those of you, who feel well – to stand in the gap with me for your Colleagues and their families.

A famous Chorus, commences with, “Freely, freely you have received, freely, freely give” written by Carol Owens. It goes on to say “Go in My Name and because you believe, others will know that I live“. We are encouraged in Galatians 6.3. “To help carry other’s burdens” May we, as those who know The Lord’s Saving Grace, Pray for and support those around us who are in need.

I am always pleased to hear from you. Please add a comment below for all to see, or contact me privately here

May you know the Love and care of the One Who Saved you.
Finally, so many thanks for all you are and do. Again yesterday on Chaplaincy Duty, I was so aware of the busyness of everyone.

Yes please accept my heartfelt “Thank You”.
My daily Prayers are with you.
In His Precious Name.
Alice

Today’s exhortation – God will restore

The message I believe God wants us to hear today is that He will restore to us everything we have lost. Many of us have lost so much along the way, family, friends, status, wealth, investments, dignity, etc but if we would make God our focus, keep our eyes on Him and trust Him, He will restore. He’s a God of restoration and we see that throughout the bible. He restored to both Joseph and his father Jacob what they had lost. Joseph was seventeen years old when he was taken away from his father and his father lived seventeen years in Egypt with Joseph before he died. That’s the beauty of our God. So particular and so loving.

The restoration may take longer than we expect it to, but it will happen. However while we wait, “let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.” (Galatians‬ ‭6:9‬). This is the word of The Lord to us today, “I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, The crawling locust, The consuming locust, And the chewing locust,.. You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, And praise the name of the LORD your God, Who has dealt wondrously with you; And My people shall never be put to shame.” (Joel‬ ‭2:25-26‬). Thank You Father God in Jesus name. Amen
