Prayer Letter from Alice

Hello Everyone,

Thank you for the comeback received from the PL last week.

One email reply contained the following paragraph referring to the heat –

“We lost power for a bit of time, and the water pressure was vastly reduced. Apparently the water company reduced the pressure because of equipment failure, which caused the taps to provide only a gentle flow of water, but that didn’t affect us. Though T was distressed by the power cut in case it wasn’t restored quickly enough for us to cook him his preferred pizza the following day, when it was expected to be cooler! – the things kids worry about!”

I replied to the Officer – a Dad, “That last phrase you wrote: The things kids worry about! so spoke to me about our Heavenly Father as He sees us; His Children worrying about things”.

A verse that was quoted in our Surrey Prayer Meeting this week comes to mind. Proverbs 3.5.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart
Lean not unto you own understanding
In all your ways acknowledge Him
And He will direct your path”

“Leave your imagination with God” was said to me many years ago.

Many Blessings as you trust in Him.

Prayer Letter from Alice

Hello Everyone,

Hopefully soon you will be taking a well-earned holiday.

Thank you so much again for all that you undertake, I have such tremendous admiration for each one of you.

As a Chaplain, I am aware of many activities in which you are involved, that was the case today when visiting. Such a privilege. Gives me added fuel to say “THANK YOU”.

A few days ago, I read the following – Susie Larson:

When you look in the mirror, you may see a tired, weary soul

Heaven sees a warrior

Firmly grafted into the family of God

Deeply rooted in the love of God

Profoundly called to the purposes of God

Heaven knows your name

And right now

God’s sufficient Grace is enough

Please can I encourage you in the midst of your busyness right now, to read the above at least once more.

Personally, it has spoken to me every time I have read it in the last few days. I so need it at the moment to feed my inner heart with the truth it speaks.

“God’s Sufficient Grace Is Enough”

Many Blessings,

Huge appreciation for all you are and do.

Alice.

Prayer Letter from Alice

Hello Everyone,

Last week I had the great privilege of being part of the International Day of Prayer for the Emergency Services. I spent an hour on Zoom with others from many parts of the UK, Germany, Italy, Nigeria and Nepal.

I had to smile. Our links over the Internet were excellent throughout, except when the President of the CPA – CC Pam Kelly, spoke from my village, now a Town in Gwent in South Wales, where I was born!

CC Pam Kelly referred to the Police as being the First Responders in most Emergencies. She thanked each and every one of you. When Leaders, the CC went on to say, are finding it difficult; due to pressure of work to pass on praise for work being done, “We the Christians in and amongst our Teams are there as a light to encourage”.

“Light” was referred to a number of times and as Christians to be encouraged to bring His Light, that is in you; to support others around you in the darkness.

I am reminded of the following – 1Tim 2. 1-3

I urge then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and All those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all Godliness and Holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Saviour

May you be there this coming week to Pray for yourselves, each other and those who do not know you and to bring light and encouragement.

In His Grip

Prayer Letter from Alice

Hello everyone,

Last week in the Prayer Letter I shared an old Chorus with you.

“I stand before the Presence of the Lord God of Hosts”.

My mind has continued to stay in that area ever since.

My week has again been manic for many reasons and I know I need to take time out to renew my strength in the Lord.

I want to encourage you to do that, by sharing another Chorus with you, written by Noel Richards.

 To be in your presence
 To sit at your feet
 Where your love surrounds me
 And makes me complete

  To rest in your presence
  Not rushing away
  To cherish each moment
  Here I would stay

This is my desire, O Lord
  This is my desire
This is my desire, O Lord
  This is my desire

May I encourage you to take time out with Him. I know I need to do so.

Many Blessings as you spend time with Him this week.

Prayer Letter from Alice

Hello Everyone,

During the week at some stage, I have a nudge from God, “Here is the basis for this coming week’s Prayer Letter”. It can happen even before the present one hasn’t even left my lap top. This PL is one such case. All I knew was that the Chorus below featured, nothing else came along to go with it. By now I would have written the PL for this coming Friday. It is Wednesday Morning as I write. God knows.

It was late last night when I learned of the serious stabbing that had taken place in the Elmbridge area on a PCSO. Thoughts and Prayers immediately went out to her, family, Colleagues, Emergency Services that dealt with the happening, the MCT where I am a Chaplain who would have been called out. The list includes Insp: Bert Dean who is the Commander there and their Chaplain.

I am leaving with you the Chorus God gave me as stated earlier, it tells us who we are in Him. I am so pleased that at times like this, He cares and I have a place to go, to share with Him my deepest thoughts and sadness.

I stand before the presence of the Lord God of hosts,
a child of my Father and an heir of his grace,
for Jesus paid the debt for me, the veil was torn in two,
and the Holy of Holies has become my dwelling place.

During such times in which we live, please join me in standing in His Presence

I have returned to my lap top and it is now late Wednesday afternoon. Have heard that the PCSO has left hospital and is recovering at home. PRAISE THE LORD

We are in His Grip.
