Today’s Exhortation – Joy in His shadow

At the onset of the church, God was movingly mightily in the way of signs and wonders. So much so that Peter’s shadow healed the sick. The bible says, so that they brought the sick out into the streets and laid them on beds and couches, that at least the shadow of Peter passing by might fall on some of them. (Acts 5:15). But, if such power was displayed through the shadow of a man, how much more the shadow of The Almighty ? The bible says, He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. (Psalms 91:1). That is why Moses said to God, please do not send us away from here if Your presence doesn’t go with us. (Exodus 33:13)

In His presence we have protection, refuge, provision, healing, faith, peace, freedom and the list goes on… There’s also joy in His presence because the bible says, “In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”(Psalms 16:11). What sets us apart from all the rest is being able to have joy even in our darkest hours. Whilst others faint at the sign of trouble, we sing praises to God. We lift up His holy name and sing it is well with my soul. The joy of The Lord is our strength! If you’re missing joy in your life, the answer is to abide under the shadow of The Almighty. Abide means to live there, and not just visit. Amen
