As I arrived between the first and second Services in our Church on Sunday last; surrounded by many people; a long time friend whom I hardly get to see amongst so many people, grabbed my hand.
Within seconds another friend did the same thing with my other hand.
As the second friend attached herself to me, the first friend started chatting with someone else. However, she still held my hand.
The second friend quickly told me that she was in Hospital the following day for a possible Cancer diagnosis, “Please Pray”. I did so on the spot there and then (Still holding my first friend’s hand). I have of course continued to Pray for this situation. Married to a man with dementia and a special needs son, she has always been the strong one in the family.
Having Prayed; she let go of my hand and made her way out of the building. I am still holding the hand of my first friend. “Please Pray” she eventually said, her younger son about to have a Heart By-Pass operation.
This very unusual happening reminded me of the way I often sign out on an email… “In His Grip”.
Isaiah 41:13: That’s right. Because I, your God, have a firm grip on you, and I’m not letting go. I’m telling you ‘Don’t panic, I’m right here to help you’.
Just as I and my two friends were holding on to each other on Sunday Morning, He, Our Heavenly Father has a “Grip” … like no other.
We walked away from each other… He never walks away
In His Grip.
