My first words must be to Our Heavenly Father: “We are full of thanks for the life of our Queen and for Your care of the whole of London and Windsor during the State Funeral on Monday. Amen”.
As a Chaplain, I was privileged to be involved with Operation London Bridge, at HQ’s. Meeting those who were about to leave for duty early on Monday morning and previous to that, visiting the Tactical Control Room the Friday before.
I am in awe of the work that was being done in our area alone. Then I try to take on board the happenings of which we were aware on Monday. I can only give God the Glory for His Safe Keeping and indescribable thanks to all of you in the work you undertook in Surrey, Sussex and The Met Police.
Below, is a picture of our Queen; which I look at every week when in the Chief’s area of HQ’s. This time with a black ribbon. In it you can see the reflections of the area in which it is situated.
Finally, more words spoken by Her Majesty in 2002.
“I rely on my faith to guide me. I know that the only way to live my life is to try to do what is right, to give my best in all that the day brings and to put my trust in God”
