A Very Happy New Year to you all. I Pray that, for you in the Mighty Name of Jesus.
I know many of you will have been on duty during the Christmas period and more recently the New Year. Thank You! I do however trust that you have had precious time with your family and friends. Personally, I know how special such time is with family; having a Daughter who lives in The States and was able to spend five days with me here in the UK, over Christmas.
Continued Prayer for our Force Chaplain please, Patrick Samuels. He is undergoing further treatment following a heart attack before Christmas.
During last year we started to Pray for Paul, an Officer in Sussex. He is, as I shared with you, Cancer free and is able to return to work. However, in the last few weeks, he has a health issue as a kick back from his treatment that needs to be dealt with, before he can take this step. Please, continued Prayer for him.
I have been in regular contact with Paul during this time of illness. I am leaving with you below; part of an email he sent me (with his permission). He was replying to my email at the time.
Thank you for your words which mean a lot to me at this time. I’ve been reading Psalm 23 again and the words – that God wants to put us in green pastures to restore our souls etc. I just feel that God has been saying to me just stop and rest and draw close to me and get to know me so your words of “Be still and know that I am God” really spoke to me.
Surely, I should be writing about being up and being active, after all, it is the beginning of a New Year. But no. I am reminded of John Sutherland’s comment, (He was a former Commander in The London Met), “If the oxygen masks come down in the aircraft in which you are travelling due to an emergency and you have your young daughter alongside you, you do not do what comes naturally – place her mask on first, you place your mask on and then tend to her needs”. John is a great encourager in “God’s Oxygen”.
I am therefore encouraging you as I do myself to take time out to “Rest in Him”, then you and I will be able to cope with those around us who need us.
Please feel free to contact me at any time using the form below.
Many Blessings during 2019
