Today’s exhortation – We’re His glory!
One of my prayers for many years has been, “God Please, show me Your glory.” (Exodus 33:18) One day after such a prayer, The Lord said to me “you are My glory.” I didn’t quite grasp what He meant until I read this story…There was a man running for a train and as he was about to get on the train, he bumped into a little boy carrying a basket full of toys which spilt onto the platform. The man stopped and thought for a second to catch the train or help the boy. He decided to miss the train and help the boy collect the toys on the platform. When he finished, the boy looked up into his face and said “excuse me sir, are you Jesus?”
I couldn’t think of a bigger compliment! The Lord said, ““You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:14-16). This is who we are, the glory of God! When we live out our faith in a manner which attracts people to Jesus, we are glorifying The Father. We shouldn’t have to tell people we’re Christians, they ought to see the love of God oozing out of us. Our lives should be a living testimony of the goodness of Jesus Christ at all times. Amen
