Today’s exhortation – setting captives free
We thank God that in the light of His word, we can see and expose the workings of demonic oppression and be free from them. So how can we detect their activity? Demons work by harassing us or making life miserable for us. They’re also like amplifiers that take a weak signal and amplify it. They take our weak places of emotion like pain, hurt, fear, anxiety, bad experience, bondage etc and make it way bigger than it is. E.g. Have you had a painful incident play in your mind over and over till you just want to scream? That’s what I mean, they make mountains out of molehills. They torment our minds with fear and lies, cause us to have painful emotions by condemning or reminding us of very painful words or events, weaken our wills by wearing us out, deceive us into believing that we are not loved and make us feel abandoned or rejected even by God and can also make us physically sick.
Thankfully, Jesus has made provision for us in His name to break all of these things off our lives. But to enjoy this continually, we’ve to remove all ground or doors that demons may have in our lives. Jesus said to His disciples before He went to the cross, “… the ruler of this world is coming, and he has nothing in Me.” (John 14:30). What He meant was that there were no grounds, handles or doors in His life that gave the devil any right or way to do anything to Him. E.g.s of these doors or grounds are generational curses, ungodly beliefs, soul hurts, sins, bitterness, judgements, unforgiveness etc. By His grace, over the past weeks, we’ve been removing them so that we can live life and live it more abundantly. Amen! To be cont..
