Letter from Graham

Dear All,

Many of you will be Christian police officers or staff and maybe wondering how you should show the love of Jesus to your colleagues in the current crisis.  As well as offering any practical help that we can, We believe that prayer is one of the most important contributions we can offer.

Many of us have been emailing our entire OCUs/ BCUs with a simple message that we are here to pray for our colleagues and their families regardless of their beliefs.  Personally I have had a number of responses to this email, from requests for prayer for elderly relatives to senior managers thanking me for my compassion at this time.  As people look to worldly solutions to the current crisis, many are now turning to the only One who really can offer them a peace that surpasses all understanding.

So please consider communicating the love of Jesus to your colleagues in this simple way.  We also have a prayer WhatsApp group where you can anonymise your requests and get lots of us praying for the same thing.  If you’d like to join us then please let me know (I’d need your mobile number for this).

Please also pray for our senior leaders at this time that God will protect them and their families and give them the wisdom to make the right decisions.

Rejoice in the Lord always.  I will say it again rejoice.  Let your gentleness be evident to all.  The Lord is near.  Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus – Philippians 4:4-7

Blessings
