Prayer and Fellowship meeting Friday 19th October

It was lovely to see you all this morning. Again, a wonderful time of prayer, songs and the encouragement of God’s word. Welcome back to Chris and well done for staying up to make the meeting…who needs sleep anyway!!

For those who couldn’t make it…we missed you! Here is a summary:

Through Isaiah we see a picture of God’s people (Judah) who are being hounded by Syria and Israel, not to mention the Assyrian colossus. They are oppressed, despondent, hopeless and broken. What they want is a leader who will be more ruthless and violent than their enemies who will wipe the opposition from the face of the earth. What they get is the promise of a baby boy who will become the Prince of Peace. This promise was the only solution to their problem then….and it is the only solution to our problems today.

Isaiah 55: 8 & 9

8 “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord.
“And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.
9 For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.”

God doesn’t always answer our prayers the way we expect Him to or when we think the time is right…but His timing is always perfect and His solutions always faultless. The more we get to know God and focus on Him the more we will be able to trust that His answers are…well…perfect!

We look forward to seeing you at the next meeting which will be on Friday 26th October, 7.30am at Limehouse.

Have a wonderful week.
God bless
Lara

Wonderful prayer and fellowship meeting 12th Oct

Thanks to all who came and participated this morning – I really enjoyed our time together and hope it was as uplifting for you as it was for me! Some very encouraging words were offered and the time of prayer was very moving. For those who couldn’t make it here is a little summary:

Matthew 18:20
Jesus told us: “For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them.”

I for one am guilty of forgetting this or not taking it seriously but it is an amazing promise and I think we all felt God’s presence with us this morning as we shared, listened to a couple of my favourite songs (future suggestions always welcome), read a couple of passages and prayed together.

1 Peter 1:2 “God the Father knew you and chose you long ago, and his Spirit has made you holy. As a result, you have obeyed him and have been cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ. May God give you more and more grace and peace.”

The songs we listened to have beautiful lyrics and if you want to look them up they are:

Tim Hughes God In my living

Les Buckley Have mercy on me o God of Love

God bless to all

Fellowship / Prayer Meeting – Friday 5th October 7.30am

Todays Prayer Meeting at Limehouse Police Station was particularly moving, we looked at 1 Peter 1:3-12, which resonated with many of the attendees.

Praise to God for a Living Hope

3Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade—kept in heaven for you, 5who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. 6In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. 7These have come so that your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. 8Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, 9for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

10Concerning this salvation, the prophets, who spoke of the grace that was to come to you, searched intently and with the greatest care, 11trying to find out the time and circumstances to which the Spirit of Christ in them was pointing when he predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow.12It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves but you, when they spoke of the things that have now been told you by those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven. Even angels long to look into these things.

We also listened to ‘Take it to the Streets’, by Matt Redman. Matt Redman is one of the UK’s leading worship artists, and performed at the National Day of Prayer that some of us from HT went to last weekend.

As usual, we will meet in the canteen for the next prayer / fellowship meeting which is at Limehouse Police Station next Friday (12th October) at 7.30am. All police officers / police staff most welcome.

May God Bless you all

Chris

A new CPA member at Limehouse shares her testimony

As part of the ‘Encounter’ series. Special Constable Oyindamola Okusanya based at Limehouse Police Station writes:

‘I was born into a Muslim family but I had an encounter with Jesus. I heard the song Amazing Grace over and over through TV, radio, even in the markets, everywhere I turned. I listened to the song properly and the Holy Spirit came all over me. I cried like a baby. Since then I have never looked back. I have been born again over 13 years now. Praise Jesus.’

National Day of Prayer

Two of us from HT plus family & friends went to the National Day of Prayer 2012 at Wembley Stadium, on Saturday 29th September.

We joined 32,000 other Christians from different denominations, and all parts of the UK and some from around the world, for an awesome day of prayer and worship. Simply wonderful to have so many people all in the same place, engaged in the same worship at the same time.

Artists performing and leading the worship included Remanente, Sound of Wales, Tim Hughes, Noel Robinson, Matt Redman, Guvna B, Hillsong, LZ7, Graham Kendrick, Lara Martin, and the NDOP Mass Choir

An awesome, motivational and inspiring day – don’t miss it next year.

Fellowship / Prayer Meeting

In todays Fellowship meeting we heard:

Psalm 23

The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
for his name’s sake.
Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
forever.
