Christian Police Meeting NSY Thursday 2nd April

Hi Everyone

We will be meeting in the Ground Floor Press Briefing Room on from 1 – 2 pm.  Do join us if you are able to, as we celebrate the wonder of what Jesus gave up and took on for us.

“Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:
Who being in very nature God,
did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,
but made Himself nothing,
taking the very nature of a servant,
being made in human likeness.
And being found in appearance as a man,
He humbled Himself and became obedient to death
– even death on a cross!
Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place
and gave Him the Name that is above every name,
that at the name of JESUS every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
and every tongue confess that JESUS is LORD
to the glory of God the Father.”
Philippians 2:5-11

Whether or not you have been to the group before, you are most welcome.
“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”  Matthew 28:19-20

Christian Police Group NSY Thursday 12th March

Hi Everyone

God is soooooo good, and awesome in His provision!  I haven’t contacted you about the meeting tomorrow until now because I have been trying to find a venue – and He has given us one: the 5th Floor Briefing Room, no less!

So, we will be meeting at 1 pm in the 5th Floor Briefing Room (it seats 144, so all welcome!) to watch the first half of Part 2 of Chuck Missler’s Easter Story DVD.  Chuck has already reminded us in Part 1 that Jesus was in full control of all that happened leading up to His death, and as Jesus Himself said, “I lay down My life so that I may take it up again.  No one has taken it away from Me but I lay it down on My own intiative.  I have the authority to lay it down, and I have the authority to take it up again.” John 10: 17-18.  Part 2 is all about the resurrection and the promise of Jesus’ return.  Do join us.

“There is no one holy like the LORD.  Indeed, there is no one besides You, nor is there any Rock like our God.”  1 Samuel 2:2

Richest blessings

“We Stand Together”

The following letter from Metropolitan Police Commander Chishty, Community Policing, is an invitation to a community event this Sunday, 8th March, calling communities across London to unite against the terrorism threat and stand together without prejudice.  It would be wonderful if you could join us and make this a truly special occasion.

“Dear Friends and Colleagues,

I would like to apologise for the short notice you have been given of this event this Sunday.

Following the indiscriminate attacks in Belgium, Paris and more recently Copenhagen, communities from all backgrounds have been left feeling less secure and more fearful. Whilst intelligence, security and policing services work tirelessly to safeguard and protect the country and all its communities, the possibility of a lone, self-starter terrorist cannot be ruled out. The national threat assessment reflects this position.

Jewish and Muslim communities in particular have become resigned to and expectant of a further attack. The strength of relationship between both these communities and their natural integration at neighbourhood street level has been well established over many generations and remains strong. Both of these faith communities have however faced and continue to grapple with the enduring and wide ranging impact of such terrorist attacks. Despite the decisive and swift response by government and police – doubt, concern and fear lingers, which is harming the quality of life within both communities.

It is against this backdrop that a campaign that symbolising that ‘we stand together’ has emerged.

‘We stand together’, means that all people, all neighbours and all communities of all colour, race, religion and belief unite and ‘stand together’, showing that;

  • an attack on one community is an attack on the whole community
  • communities are locked together by a tight bond of trust, respect and care for another and will not be divided by any form of terrorism or hate
  • a strong unified message means that any attempt to create disharmony or fear is futile and will always be ineffective
  • the community voice, feeling and expression occupies the central public space through media, art, music, literature, commentary, events, news etc and in doing so starves extremism of its life blood and oxygen
  • we will denounce and repel radicalisation and hate at every point wherever it is found

I would like to invite you to join us in a launch event Sunday 8th March in the afternoon in Regents Park Mosque arriving at 1.30pm for a 2 p.m. start. Our intention is to show the world that we do indeed stand as one.

I look forward to seeing you there.
