Thank you for your replies to last week’s Prayer Letter.
I have a close friend, who this week is retiring from being an amazing Central King Pin in her School for many years. She makes sure everything runs well. She is there for all eventualities; a friend and support to everyone who arrives at the School.
That has included – during the Pandemic – children who would normally have school dinners, but are having to isolate at home receiving boxes of food daily. This involves ordering the food, having it delivered to the school, packing it and then sending it to the home of such children. Responsible for the School’s Administration. And all done with a smile.
This is going to be a massive change in her life. She has not had an easy time in her personal life and in recent years experienced cancer.
She is however one of these people you know is always there for you, a smile, a caring voice; all the things you would want in a friend.
I sent her the PL where I referred to Psalm 23. I sensed she would appreciate it at this tough time as she walks into a new way of life.
She replied with what she described as a foundation in her life.
“Blessed is the one who is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither;
whatever they do prospers”. Psalm 1.
I Pray that during these still very uncertain times; you too will know this Blessing.
