Verse Of The Day?POWER: 2018-Sharing the❤️of God wherever we go

Psalm 62:8 (KJV)

“Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah. God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God. Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy: for thou renderest to every man according to his work.”

Whatever we are facing at this time in our lives, read the confirmation in this scripture- “GOD is a refuge for us.” The only refuge. We may look to others to help us or other devices but they are temporal, some even ungodly, if we are honest. Psalms 135 tells us “Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands. They have mouths, but they speak not: eyes have they, but they see not: 6 They have ears, but they hear not: noses have they, but they smell not:
7 They have hands, but they handle not: feet have they, but they walk not: neither speak they through their throat.” If we trust in these idols or things that we think we deliver us we become just like them. None can give that everlasting refuge like God can. None can deliver us. He is that place of safety, run into Him. His arms are walls of might & defence surrounding us & they cannot be moved.

If you have doubted in your heart that you will be delivered, know this as verse 12 states emphatically- “power belongs to God”! It may seem that the situation against us is winning or overwhelming us but God knows just when to take authority over it because everything is subjected to Him including Satan- “For Thine is the Kingdom, the Power & the glory, forever & ever, amen” isn’t this what Jesus taught us in The Our Father prayer? King David reassures us in this Psalms above, that he knows that God has said this & he has also heard it twice before. How many times in our lives have we proven that “power & authority” belongs to God but our situations causes us to fear or give in? Go back through your life and try & to number the times you have been delivered or witnessed victory in Jesus name, it’s innumerable. “Hope now in God” brethren. I’m encouraging myself today as I encourage you too, “pour out your request” before Our Father & tell Him what you are up against. He bids us to come if “all who are heavy burdened & I (alone) will give you rest”.

Our Father is also a Merciful God but He will deal with us accordingly, we must strive to do good no matter what we are facing, hard though it maybe. Gosh, at times it’s so hard due to the hurt, maybe even anger, we might be feeling. Humiliation. Scared. Betrayal. Unfairness. Lied on. Unkindness. Anxiety. Bullied. Malice. Ganged up on. Sickness. Collusion. Cruelty. Abuse. Mocked. Lack. Still show mercy & kindness with thanksgiving to God “in everything”  because we will all need it too one day, if not now.

This Psalms speaks volumes to us today. God is our Defence. God is our Deliverer. All power belongs to God. God is merciful. So many facets to God & still we do not know  the fullness of His Omniscient power  If we need to come before Him & repent, let us do so now while the dispensation (this time/era) of Grace is offered to us. If we need to show others mercy & we all know there are people that we are withholding mercy from because of what we maybe facing or what they have done/doing to us- & let me say, it could even be a small thing but God is saying “let it go”; let us do so now because God will not hear our prayers if we don’t.

God has the power to turn our enemies around & put them “at our footstools”, He is in control. If you are in a financial quagmire, tell your Father Jesus – The Bible tells us He said “let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. In my Father’s House are many mansions, if it were not so, I would not have told you ” so let the peace of God be upon & within us today. The book of Haggai chp2:8 declares “The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the Lord of hosts.” Tell Jesus what you are facing financially & ask Him to send in a legitimate source of income because the enemy can offer us many ways to ‘obtain funds’ & it might seem as though it came from The Lord but let not the dire need we may facing, blind our ears & eyes to the truth & turn to lust, causing us to sin.

If it’s your job, know that “promotion does not come from the east or west but from God Almighty” David declares it when he is being challenged for his throne, where God ordained him to sit & rule from. God placed him there. The very job we do or are seeking, comes from God, so pray over it- be thankful & if someone is troubling you in your place of work, read this very scripture and pray over them & the situation. God placed you there “for such a time as this” so be wise, hold your peace until God tells you when to speak. We need to ‘til the ground’ while we are working there & reap souls for The Kingdom of God. Brethren, occupy your mind with Jesus, do not dwell on that problem – hard though it may be. It will consume you. I’m speaking from experience. Seek perpetually, for “the mind of Christ & His peace which surpasses (goes) “beyond all understanding”. Have you not heard? – “God is our refuge, power belongs to Him. He is a very present help in trouble”. The 4th Man in the Fire, The Angel in the lion’s den, the still voice in the midst of the storm, calming the rage against us, against our troubles- He is with us. He is in control.

Please remember God promised us in the book of Isaiah that “no weapon formed against us will prosper & every tongue that rises up against us in judgement God (this same God in the Psalms, The God of our forefathers Abraham, Issac, Jacob & Jospeh. Look what they did to Joseph- his own family) will condemn because this is our heritage”. Are we going to claim our inheritance in Jesus name? Or are we going to give in to the issues facing us- & remember, not all issues are oppressive. They maybe issues we need direction in or to make a decision on- still take it to God & enquire of Him: “Lord should I?…” Are we going to do what is right & true, in the sight of God from our hearts? This battle whatever it is, belongs to God so lift up your heads “little children” of The Most High God & trust Him “Nay (indeed) in all things, we are more than Conquerers through Him who loves us” Romans 8:37. Let us speak victory over ourselves during our tests.

Be blessed saints, in Jesus name.

About Samantha Alexander

I am a born again Christian and I attend The Refuge Church of The Living God, St. Mary's, Clissold Park, North London. I come from an extremely large Christian family, being one of 8 children,'sibling' to many foster children & I'm married to a gorgeous serving Officer. We share two wonderful, at times a handful?, extremely talented & sporty children. We are blessed by the laughter & joy they bring us. My role in the Met is within the Specialist Crime Directorate and I have been a Forensic Practitioner for the past 15years. I have overcome much adversity with my health & had it not been for Gods hand upon me, my faith & good support from my family & really beautiful colleagues, I would have given up long ago.
God has positioned me here for such a time as this & He has now opened this wonderful door to London Christian Police Family.
I love to laugh & encourage people around me & my joy definitely springs up when we can smile through our storms. May God ever bless you, Samantha?
