Prayer Letter 12th October 2018

Hello Everyone,

I trust you are well.

Again this week we are holding a Funeral for a Member of Surrey Police. Prayer much appreciated for Chloe’s Family, Colleagues and Friends as that takes place on Friday afternoon. This is the fourth Funeral in four weeks for Surrey Police.

May I also encourage you to Pray for yourself and for your immediate Colleagues.

Whilst I was on holiday recently, in a farmhouse in France with friends who live there -they went to France 13 years ago and started a Church, which today is flourishing; I walked into the kitchen where the wife of the couple was yet again preparing food.

I was concerned that a small Bible was open on the table where much flour and other ingredients were placed. “Please may I remove your Bible Christine, so that it doesn’t get damaged?”. “No, it’s fine there thank you” was her reply. I walked away, somewhat surprised by her answer.

The following day yet again the Bible was in amongst the ingredients for yet another meal that was being prepared. “Christine, I don’t understand why you continue to allow your Bible to possibly become damaged by the various things on the table” “Jim (her husband) as you know is preaching on Sunday and I want to keep referring to the passage of Scripture on which he is basing his sermon, so that I can Pray for him”, was her reply.

The Bible in the middle of everyday life, how important is that as a lesson. God says, “My Word is a lamp for your feet and a light on your path”. Psalm 119: 105. Vital in every part of our lives in today’s world.

May you be able this week to spend time in His Word; so that in turn It can be a support to you as you protect and care for the lives of people where you serve as Officers and Members of Surrey, Sussex and The Met Police.
