Hello Everyone,
Very many thanks to Simon and Bert for writing the PL whilst I have been away on holiday. Able to write in a way that is not possible for me.
It is good to return to put “Pen to paper” again. During my time away, I have been able to recharge my batteries and also to heal from a fractured wrist which happened 6 weeks ago.
This Saturday 22nd September we will be holding a Memorial Service at Surrey HQ’s where we will be remembering those who have died in Surrey Police. I have the great pleasure of playing for the Service. Continued Prayer please for those who are mourning due to the loss of these loved ones, including three families affected in the last few weeks in Surrey Police.
You will recall that we have been Praying for Paul, an Officer in Sussex. Below is an email he sent me this week. I am sharing it with his permission. He is writing from “Just where he is in reality but truly aware of His Lord”.
Hi Alice
I’m back in hospital and I am on a new ward this time, which is nicer. This is my last round of chemo. My cancer blood count has dropped from 30 to 4 which is good. I have a month of tests in October and hopefully get the all clear on the 29th October a day before my birthday. If the tumour is still there, then they will remove it. I still have no taste buds and these last two weeks at home have been hard with feeling sick and extreme tiredness and I’ve been getting pains in my legs which is caused by the steroids expanding my bone marrow but it has nowhere to go so it’s causing pain. Today they did find a vein first time which was a blessing and the chemo seems to be flowing ok with no blockages. Just three more days of chemo- then that’s it.
God has been so close to me and keeps saying that the battle belongs to him and do not fear I am with you.
Not sure when I will be back to work. Most people say it takes about 3 months to recover so that will be the New Year.
Thanks for your prayers
God Bless
Paul
“The battle belongs to the Lord. Do not be afraid”. 2 Chronicles 20.15. That is Paul’s Testimony. May we all rest in that statement this coming week.
