Prayer Letter 4th May 2018

Hello Everyone,

I have this week, been to the Funeral Service of Marion Steer. She was part of the CAU Department that I visit as their Chaplain. A lovely, friendly, smiling Member of the Team. She received a Commendation from the CC for an Investigation in to an Historical Sexual Abuse Case. A privilege to have known such a wonderful person.

Please Pray for her Family, Colleagues and Friends. To those Prayers, please Pray for families in The Met, Surrey and Sussex who have big personal concerns in the area of health.

Last Friday I attended our Police Prayer Meeting at HQ’s. I asked those attending how their week had gone. One of our Staff Members said that one of his younger children was playing quietly in her bedroom mid evening; then suddenly – a rush of feet down the stairs, “Daddy, Daddy, I don’t know how to tell you this“. “Tell me what?” was his urgent reply, “It doesn’t matter what has happened, just please tell me“. His young Daughter had managed to lodge a bead inside her nose. Quickly it became obvious that a visit to A and E was essential. Thankfully a Medic had seen this all before, so Dad, Child and bead all returned home.
The following day, the same Dad, very busy at work at HQ’s had a phone call from his older Son, “Dad, I need to let you know I have had a car crash, I am OK, it was not my fault”. Dad offered to do all he could for his Son, although many miles away.
As these two stories were shared with us, it spoke to me of the trust both these Children had in their Dad; a picture of our relationship with our Heavenly Father. No matter what, He really wants to know how we feel and how we are. He wants us to be open with Him. He wants to be there for us.

He is an ever-present help in trouble” Psalm 46:1
