Prayer Letter 13th April 2018

Hello Everyone,

I hope you are well.

I am aware again this week of children who are not well belonging to our Police Families. Distressing times as new Medicines are administered. Please Pray for God’s intervention.

I am not writing a “Bible Slot” this week as I want to share with you an email I have just received from a Superintendent. He has completed his 30 years in the Police and has decided to retire. So, enjoy the following…………

I don’t have any immediate plans aside from all the things at home I haven’t had the time to complete, including the gardening, and annoying the neighbours with my electric guitar, but will look to work in the near future. It’s difficult to think what else I would wish to do when I’ve only wanted to be a police officer since I was 4 years old. I’ve had a wonderful and rewarding career; I strongly feel the Lord has guided me and I hope I’ve made a positive difference to some people’s lives. I couldn’t imagine not working in public service; you certainly don’t become a cop to get rich but helping people is a great reward in itself.

Whenever I reach a crossroads in life I always think of Sydney Carter’s Hymn ‘One More Step Along the World I Go’ and it brings me great comfort and certainty I am being guided in the right direction. There are 2 verses in particular which mean a lot to me:

As I travel through the bad and good
Keep me travelling the way I should
Where I see no way to go
You’ll be telling me the way, I know

Give me courage when the world is rough
Keep me loving though the world is tough
Leap and sing in all I do
Keep me travelling along with You

So, a time for everything, and it’s time for me to seek exciting new challenges but I will miss the police so very much

Good to be able to read this Testimony. “We all wish you many Blessings in Your Lord and Saviour”.

I have spoken to a number of people since hearing of this retirement and the reply has always been, “Such a special person, always liked him”.
