Prayer Letter 5th January 2018

Hello Everyone,

I trust that you have had a good time over Christmas and the New Year. It would seem from my Chaplaincy visit today, that a number of Officers/Staff were off duty – but certainly on duty caring for their sick relatives at home.
I went out last Sunday Evening on Street Angel Duty. One of our Angels read the following before we left our base, which was written by Minnie Louise Haskins and quoted by George Vl in his Christmas Message 1939.

And I said to the man who stood at the gate of the year: “Give me a light so that I may tread safely into the unknown”. And he replied: “Go out into the darkness and put your hand into the Hand of God. That shall be to you better than light and safer than a known way.” So I went forth, and finding the Hand of God, trod gladly into the night. And He led me towards the hills and the breaking of day in the lone East.
As I thought on these words, I was reminded of a famous Chorus we used to sing written by Jenny Hewer.

Father, I place into your hands
The things I cannot do,
Father, I place into your hands
The things that I’ve been through.
Father, I place into your hands
The way that I should go,
For I know I always can trust you.

I am Praying that as you enter this New Year, with much ahead of you as you serve, you will know, that underlying foundation of God in your life and be able to trust Him throughout 2018.

Please do feel free to contact me at any time by adding a comment below or click here to message me privately.

Many Blessings
Alice.
