What Are You Reading??This Week??2017:The Year Of Difference:Walk In The Light of Jesus Christ

Over the past year I have been receiving such encouragement, thank you, in forms of scriptures (my favourite), encouraging quotes & book titles of what our followers, friends, colleagues & family are reading & listening to. In a moment of either joy or despair, I don’t know about you but when I receive something which touches my spirit, I know I am thankful & often (if you have a faith), know that it’s a God moment. One writer calls it a God-wink, how beautiful! Divinely appointed to uplift me. His Holy Spirit reminding me (& you), prompting & encouraging me that “I Am still here beside you”. At times it’s to instill wisdom & at times it’s to discipline, others it is to say you are loved & others it’s to deepen my knowledge where there is fog! but ALL of it works together for my (our) good! Combining “I thought of you today” & this section “What are you reading this week?”, please & I am asking all CPA’s, Christians who work in the Fire, Ambulance & Emergency services- anyone reading our site, to share this message & send in your Christian book titles, songs, excerpts or authors, maybe it’s a poem or prayer, with me & it will be placed here to encourage others with what you are reading or teaching even & how you are encouraging those around you on your daily route to work, once you are at work or on the journey home. Indeed, how you encourage yourself when you’re up against it! Maybe a verse, a song or what you are reading helped you?  Share what your children maybe reading or you to your children if you have younger ones too. Reading the children’s Bible & Biblical Heroes, also the awesome ‘Superbook’ & the quizzes (I had to get back to my Bible there I can tell you!!!) has helped me immensely. It has so widened my knowledge of what true faith in God is. I understand & utilise ‘child-like faith’ taught by the children around me, they are not taking no for an answer! They wrestle like did Jacob with The Angel of The Lord, & they are not afraid to ask questions of God, (& us?!) how else then, will they understand? That is their strength & we can so be encouraged by this.

Share also, the joy of your blessings because I can say for certain that being a child of God is not always doom & gloom & “being in the fiery furnace”, though we know we shall all pass through trials in our lives. Yes, my smile & youthful glow is the glory of God & not enhancements??, at times no-one knows what I am experiencing because I choose hope & I choose to praise Jesus from the inside of me. Your contribution doesn’t need to be dissected, we are simply sharing with those around us near & I hope far but if you want to add a line or two, that’s brilliant & it is good to know why this has touched you & how God continues to teach & reach His children in order for us, to bless others.  You could be reaching someone who is at the brink with just a sentence from an encouraging song. Remember we are the billboard of Jesus Christ wherever we are.

Alongside my favourite book, my love story- ❤️The Bible; KJV; I am also reading “When God Whispers Your Name” by Max Lucado, he writes;

“When I see a flock of sheep I see exactly that—a flock. A rabble of wool…all alike. But not so with the shepherd. To him every sheep is different. Every face is special. Every sheep has a name, and that includes you! The Shepherd you! He knows your name and he will never forget it.

He says in Isaiah 49:16, “I have written your name on my hand.” Your name is on God’s hand. Your name is on God’s lips. Perhaps you’ve never seen your name honored, or heard it spoken with kindness. If so, it may be more difficult for you to believe that God knows your name. But he does! Written on his hand. Spoken by his mouth. Your name! Keep listening…be sure to hear when God whispers your name”

by Max Lucado echoed by London Police Christian Family @christianpolice. Ears open?! Be ready to know, hear & respond to the voice of Our Saviour Jesus Christ. Be encouraged today because God knows who you are, you are very special to Him. God bless you. Please send your gifts here @ChristianPolice or DM them to me if you wish, thank you  #Don’t hide your light under a bushel. Let other see Jesus in us?

About Samantha Alexander

I am a born again Christian and I attend The Refuge Church of The Living God, St. Mary's, Clissold Park, North London. I come from an extremely large Christian family, being one of 8 children,'sibling' to many foster children & I'm married to a gorgeous serving Officer. We share two wonderful, at times a handful?, extremely talented & sporty children. We are blessed by the laughter & joy they bring us. My role in the Met is within the Specialist Crime Directorate and I have been a Forensic Practitioner for the past 15years. I have overcome much adversity with my health & had it not been for Gods hand upon me, my faith & good support from my family & really beautiful colleagues, I would have given up long ago.
God has positioned me here for such a time as this & He has now opened this wonderful door to London Christian Police Family.
I love to laugh & encourage people around me & my joy definitely springs up when we can smile through our storms. May God ever bless you, Samantha?
