Today’s exhortation – A testimony!

I share this testimony with you all to give God the glory and to also show the power of godly beliefs over ungodly beliefs. In 2012, I fell ill and after many tests doctors decided to do a biopsy of my lungs because of abnormality seen on X-ray. At 9:58am, 16th August 2012, the Dr told me they had found cancer in my lungs. My first reaction was to smile and say “Dr, don’t worry Jesus will heal me.” Over the long months I had built a rapport with the Dr so he was very sad. He said he’ll pray for me but knowing he was a Muslim, I said don’t pray to Allah, pray to Jesus for me and we both laughed. After my consultation, I left his office so full of unexplainable joy. As I left, I lifted my hands in praise and said “O God thank You for counting me worthy to go through this. Now I can have a testimony and I know this will not end in death! I will not die but live to declare the goodness of The Lord in the land of the living.”

My actions may’ve suggested to other patients in the lobby that I had received good news, but the reason for my joy was I knew in my heart that God had plans for my life and they hadn’t yet been fulfilled and neither had the personal promises He had made to me too. Weeks later, more tests we done to check on the diagnoses. The Dr came back to me to say I definitely had cancer. Still I didn’t waver! I was so at peace I wondered if I was in shock so I asked The Lord to confirm if the peace was from Him. I woke up in the morning to read my bible and read this verse, “You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.” (Isaiah‬ ‭26:3‬). I asked Him to confirm this too. As I got in my car to drive to work, the chorus of the very first song I listened to was the exact words from Isaiah 26:3. Several months later without any chemo or treatment I was told they couldn’t find the cancer in me. God says “I Am the Lord that healeth thee.” (Exodus 15:26). This is the transforming power of having godly beliefs! He heals today! Don’t allow the devil to sow ungodly beliefs in you, hold onto His word and your godly beliefs! I chose the godly belief of His faithfulness and here I am today four years on. Praise The Lord!
