Prayer Letter 5th May 2017

Hello everyone,

I have this week received the following request for Prayer from a Member of Police Staff. He is a Dad who has a grown up son with special needs. He regularly visits his son in a home every week.

Hi Alice,
I hope you are well. I enjoy reading the prayer letter.
I am going in for stomach surgery on 15/05/17. I have just been told that it is not suitable for keyhole, so open surgery.
I will not be able to take my son out for about 4-6 weeks which will disappoint him and me. He doesn’t understand.
However if I do not have the surgery it could lead to complications later. As long as I recover we shall have many more times together.
God Bless

I am sure you can understand the anguish of this Dad.

On Wednesday of this week, I attended a Thanksgiving Service for a man who had been exceptionally important to my husband and me many years ago. The place- West Wittering, tucked away in a corner close to the sea in Sussex. Alice and sense of direction have never met.
About a month ago, I was dragged through a 21st Century hedge backwards. Family, friends and an Inspector in the Met in London, told me that I needed a “Smart” phone.
With the help of my younger daughter who took me by the hand and helped me to acquire the phone and giving me a lot of tuition, I set out from home to travel to this Thanksgiving Service in Sussex.
Daughter had “plumbed in” the route I needed. Of course, I also organised a written route and an Atlas with a magnifying glass.
I switched the sat nav on, on my phone. Oh my! It knew where I was and where to take me. The further I went into the final part of my journey; I was so thrilled about its knowledge. When I arrived safely at my destination, I could have cried with relief. It also brought me home. 130 mile round trip. Wonderful! I kept thanking God for my safe journey and amazing technology.

On my return route home I realised how like this it is with the Christian way of life, well it is for me, I have God, but I will still make sure everything is OK by organising what I think is necessary – just in case…. But He has it all in hand for me. My mind went back to the Service that I had attended and a verse that was quoted, “His Mercies are new every morning. Great is His Faithfulness” Lamentations 3:23

May you know the Blessing of our amazing Faithful God this coming week.

Daily Prayers for you.
Blessings.
Alice.
