Today’s exhortation – our secret weapon

As children of God who have God’s blessed assurance that all things work together for our good, we ought to be the most joyful people on earth. It goes without saying that the Christian life is full of trials, but we’re told, “brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials” James‬ ‭1‬:‭2‬). Why? Because joy is our secret weapon! – “the joy of The Lord is our strength” Nehemiah (8:10). Have you noticed that when you are full of joy, you feel on top of the world or you feel you can overcome any obstacle or feel like you can jump over the tallest building? You are also full of laughter and your body fights illness better. No wonder the bible says, “Always be joyful.” (1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5:16‬).

I’ve also heard people say I don’t want to go to heaven because it will be boring. In case the fact is lost on us, God invented joy and the bible says, In His presence is fullness of joy; At His right hand are pleasures forevermore. (Psalms‬ ‭16‬:‭11). A preacher once said, “Joy is the serious business of heaven!” “Have you ever seen someone full of joy looking glum ?” It’s impossible to look glum and serious and be full of joy! Heaven will be a place you don’t want to miss. That’s where real joy can be found and it’s in endless supply.
