Today’s exhortation – God help me
I want to share two testimonies about what it means to literally, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6). When I finished university, I had trouble finding a job. I was under the impression that getting a job after university was straightforward, but that was far from the case. After months of searching with no success, One day out of desperation I threw myself on my bed and said, “God I am tired. I’ve tried everything, I can’t do it anymore, help me.” It was a Tuesday and by Friday that same week, I had a full-time job!
The 2nd is quite embarrassing. I was getting ready for bed and was looking for my pyjamas to wear. After nearly an hour of searching, I just screamed, “O God help me.” Soon after saying that, I sat on my bed, looked in the mirror and saw that I was wearing it the whole time! So often without meaning to, we feel ok God, I can do this, You don’t need to get involved and then when we get stuck, we are like me, “O God help me.” We can save ourselves a whole lot of trouble if we turn to Him first before doing anything! If we do, then He says “Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” Whenever you turn to the right hand Or whenever you turn to the left.” (Isaiah 30:21). Have a blessed week. Amen
