Prayer Letter 7th April 2017

Hello everyone,

I trust you are well.

With others I have just stood here at Surrey Police HQ’s as the Cortege of PC Nige Furlonger came through. It was an intensely sad moment for many people who were honouring him. A privilege to be allowed to undertake this moment. Continued Prayer please for his Family, Colleagues and Friends.

This coming Monday will be the Funeral Service for PC Keith Palmer in London. Prayers please for the plans, preparation and overall protection for the day.

On Monday of this week I watched the Service in Westminster Abbey, following the terror attack a week earlier. Later I saw the following on Twitter. It was placed there by Surrey’s former Chief, Lynne Owens; now the Director General of the NCA.

We will pursue justice; We will show mercy; We will seek peace.

Lynne had copied it from the Order Of Service. These words were said by all those attending from the Emergency Services.

Yesterday I was reminded of the verse in the Beatitudes –
“God Blesses those who work for peace, for they will be called the children of God”.
Matt 5:9, NLT

I do not recall having written a Prayer Letter before, that is so full of sadness.

May you at this time know God’s Wonderful Arms around you as you continue to work for Sussex, The Met and Surrey Police Forces.

Please be assured you are in my Daily Prayers.
