Today’s Exhortation – Popcorn and Coke

God doesn’t only care about the big things in our lives, He cares just as much about the smallest things. If we care about it, He cares about it! One day, I wanted to go to the cinema but had no money. As I lay in bed, I blurted out loud “Lord I want to go to the cinema and I want popcorn and Coke.” It wasn’t a prayer, just a spoken thought. Anyhow I decided to get ready and go by faith. I ironed my clothes, sang aloud and felt merry. All the while, I didn’t have a penny or any idea of how it was going happen. As I put my clothes on, a thought came to me to look in my old wallet which was at the bottom of my draw. When I dug it out and opened it, I found an old prepaid card I had never used. I decided to take it with me to see if by any chance there was any money on it. I drove to the ATM not far from the cinema, checked the balance on it and there was £42 on it.

I went straight to the cinema praising God. I can’t remember the film I saw that day, but I remember having a large popcorn and coke. The bible says, ““Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.” Matthew‬ ‭6:31-32‬). If we would do anything to put a smile on our children’s faces, how much more our Heavenly Father? Oh how He LOVES US!
