Hello everyone,
Thank you for the replies to last week’s PL. It was probably the most difficult letter I have ever written during the last nine years.
- A recipient of the PL has been training to become one of Surrey’s future Officers. Yesterday evening, he became a fully-fledged Officer at Guildford Cathedral. Congratulations!
- On Wednesday, I was asked to join Members of Surrey Police at Woking Mosque. The Imam had arranged a Silent Vigil in honour of PC Keith Palmer from London, A special time.
Prayer Please
- One of our Members of Staff who had her daughter on Christmas Day last year, is in need of surgery. Please Pray for Mum as she prepares to go through this.
- An Officer shared a long email with me this last week telling me of a number of difficulties in his work and his family’s life. I replied to him in promising my Prayers and any help I could give. He came back and said that having written down his thoughts; it had done him a lot of good and he was now feeling so much better. He went on to say –
‘I need to “Be still and know that He is God.” 🙂 …so that I can see what He has in it for me. I have no doubt that His plan will be revealed. My heart was broken in a specific area of my life and now I am working in that very area. This was not a job I asked or applied for, it found me. There will be something in this from God’.
I know that God allows us “To Learn” from happenings in our lives. He then knows we are gifted in that area, if we hand it to Him for Him to use. So the verse I am leaving with you today is Psalm 46:10 “Be still and know that I am God”.
Nine years ago, my husband spoke on those words on the last Sunday he attended Church before the Lord took him to Glory. At the time he needed to focus on The Lord and “Be Still”.
