Today’s exhortation – Come What May
I woke one morning and decided that come what may, I will have a good day. I purposed in my heart that I will see the good in everything that happened to me that day. I looked outside and saw that the weather was gloomy and miserable, but that wasn’t going to deter me from having a good day. I got in my car to go to ikea. I turned on gospel music and sang along. About ten minutes into my journey, I heard a thump from underneath the car. I pulled over to have a look and I saw a massive gash in one of my car tyres. I laughed to myself and said “come what may, I am going to have a good day.” I carried on singing whilst I got about to change the tire. It took a while but in the end it came off. It was unusually very tight.
When I got to IKEA, I had to wait in the queue for a long time. I normally complain a lot when I have to wait in the queue, but on this occasion, “come what may, I was going to have good day.” After paying for my items, I realised it was the wrong thing. I had to join another long queue to return the items. Everything I would normally complain or become easily annoyed about seemed to be happening, but I kept the same attitude through out the day and I had a good day. You will notice that the devil came to test my resolve the whole time, but I had to keep reminding myself and staying in that place of joy. Decide today that come what may, today’s going to be a good day. Amen! God bless you.
