Today’s exhortation – don’t fear violence!
With so much violence being perpetuated around the world, one would ask God, “how long will You stand and watch this happen?” We find in the bible that the prophet Habakuk asked The Lord the something similar. He said, “O LORD, how long shall I cry, And You will not hear? Even cry out to You, “Violence!” And You will not save. Why do You show me iniquity, And cause me to see trouble? For plundering and violence are before me; There is strife, and contention arises.” Habakkuk 1:2-3) “Why do You look on those who deal treacherously, And hold Your tongue when the wicked devours A person more righteous than he?” Habakkuk 1:13)
The Lord responded and told him He will bring judgements upon all those who were committing the atrocities. Then, He said, “Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry. “Behold the proud, His soul is not upright in him; But the just shall live by his faith.” Habakkuk 2:2-4). God loves all His children but in the end He will judge the wicked, He just gives them a longer rope. However, the just, shall live by faith and not fear! No harm shall come to us in Jesus Name, “For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.” II Chronicles 16:9). Amen
