Prayer Letter 24th February 2017

Hello everyone,

I trust you are well.

This morning I undertook my Chaplaincy work in Woking Police Station. As always, so admire the work that is going on there. I know this is repeated all around the many departments in Surrey, Sussex and the Metropolitan Police. So much of the work you handle, albeit negative in that it is in the criminal area of life, it would seem it is always a positive challenge for you to get to the bottom of the investigation. I so admire your tenacity. I see too that you don’t give up; years after the crime was committed on occasions. Thank you!
There are many other departments, please accept my heartfelt thanks for the excellent work you undertake.

• Praise to the Lord for a decision for the Met in the appointment of the new Commissioner for London. Prayer for Cressida Dick who now takes up this work.

Recently, the following verse kind of “got hold of me” after a Sermon preached at our Sunday Service -Genesis 22.5.

Abraham said to his servants, “Stay here with the donkey while I and Isaac go over there, where we will worship”.

At this moment Abraham knew that he was about to sacrifice his son Isaac – and he is going to take time out to worship? I am sure worship would not have been in my head at such a difficult time. I did some study on this passage. This is the first time the word “worship” is used in the Bible and is therefore looked upon as being very important. It is known as “the first mention” in the study of Theology and seen to be very significant. Just as Abraham who is about to sacrifice his only son, this passage encourages us to take worship seriously; laying everything on the altar before God. I have to say, I am still working on this.

If you wish to make contact with me please do so either by adding a comment below, or by clicking here to contact me privately.

My Prayers are with you daily. May you know the Love of a listening Heavenly Father, He knows the bigger picture.

God Bless you and keep you, may His Face shine upon you and give you His Peace.

Alice.
