Today’s exhortation – wait! Chill for a min!

There’s a global phenomenon called the “acceleration syndrome,” and it’s causing an epidemic of rush sickness. I use this word loosely but you get the picture. Everything is rush, rush, hurry, hurry, busy, busy, busy! All we’ve to do is look around us today to see the evidence of this sad truth. It’s taking a toll on our health. We push ourselves past the point at which our bodies and minds function properly, and we suffer for it with stress, headaches, stomachaches, anxiety and depression. Very often, our busyness cuts into our sleep time so that we don’t get to have the quality of sleep that our bodies really need. This is not God’s way. The Bible says, “A calm and undisturbed mind and heart are the life and health of the body.” (Proverbs 14:30 AMP).

We don’t have to run our families and relationships to the ground because of our jobs. We’ve to bear in mind that no one is indispensable and everyone’s replaceable. Even if the company is our’s, an unhealthy body will be no use to it if it can’t function as it ought to. God’s gifts to are to be enjoyed, Family, friends, relationships etc are to be enjoyed. Most importantly, God must come first, we mustn’t be too busy to spend time with Him because without Him, we won’t have any of this. May God give us the wisdom to manage our time well and to also appreciate our relationships. Amen
