Today’s exhortation – four streams

You have heard the phrase ‘don’t put your eggs in one basket’, I believe that also speaks about our finances. TD Jakes has an excellent teaching on having multiple streams of income and he draws a parallel with Adam in the garden of Eden. The bible says that, “The LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden, and there He put the man whom He had formed. Now a river went out of Eden to water the garden, and from there it parted and became four riverheads. Then the LORD God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it.” (Genesis‬ ‭2:8, 10, 15‬). In essence, God provided Adam four streams with access to different places from which he may draw resources to tend the garden

We also need multiple streams to tend our gardens(homes). We can’t really on one stream because if it dries up, we’ll have nothing to fall back on. If we currently only have one stream, we should ask The Lord for more. One of the ways He may show us is giving us new ideas. I recently shared on how God gave George Washington Carver 300 ways on how to use peanuts. We also see companies like Apple having multiple streams of income. They make computers, phones & watches. We may not be able to work another job, but we can find ways to supplement our income – investing our money in stocks, selling unwanted items on eBay, etc. Have a blessed weekend.
