Today’s exhortation – don’t be ignorant

When no amount of positive thinking is bringing us peace in a situation, we must consider that what we may be dealing with isn’t a physical issue, but a spiritual one. When we’ve tried everything in our power to be positive but can’t seem to shift the gloom and heaviness, we may be dealing with a spirit of heaviness. The bible says we must be discerning, “in order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes.” (2 Corinthians 2:11). The ministry of The Jesus wasn’t just to save us from our sins, but the bible says “To console those who mourn in Zion. To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness…”” (Isaiah‬ ‭61:3‬).

Depression could also be the result of the spirit of heaviness for which The Lord gives us the garment of praise to break its power. Hallelujah! I believe this also suggests that when one is under a spirit of heaviness, it’s not the time to be thinking positive, but the time to praise The Lord! Because, if this is a spiritual fight, then we must employ spiritual weapons! Praise, worship, prayer, are all spiritual weapons. The bible says, The weapons we use in our fight are not the world’s weapons but God’s powerful weapons, which we use to destroy strongholds. (2 Corinthians 10:4). Do not underestimate the power of praise!
