Today’s exhortation – there’s always hope!

If at anytime we think of giving up, let’s remember the story of the woman with the issue of blood in the bible who suffered for TWELVE years but never gave up on seeking an answer to her problems. The bible says, “She had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and had spent all she had, yet instead of getting better she grew worse. When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind Him in the crowd and touched His cloak, because she thought, “If I just touch His clothes, I will be healed.” Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering.” (Mark‬ 5:26-29‬).

Even when she had spent all she had and had been written off by doctors, she never gave up! I often wonder, ‘How did she keep herself going for so long? Did she want to give up at any point?’ I don’t know the answers, but I do know that she never gave up and today, even though we don’t know her name, we get to know her story for that reason. I believe this woman’s story is there to show us that whilst we’re still breathing there’s hope and no matter how long it takes, hope in Jesus does not disappoint. Amen!
