Verse Of The Day ??

“And David enquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all” 1 Samuel 30:8 KJV

God is in the  business of recovery. He recovers lost hope, lost faith, lost souls, lost family members, lost health,  lost friendships, lost property, lost love. There’s no-one or nothing  un-recoverable for God. He is THE Restorer of the breech. He told us in the book of Joel 2:25 “And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.” This is the assurance that whatever we have been robbed of once, we put our faith and trust in Jesus, He will restore, amen! Some of us have suffered for years, some of us for a short while; some of us are oblivious that we are suffering and we are caught up in warfare. ‘We’ think it’s our doing. At times, more often than not, we think it’s Gods doing and we blame Him, wrongly so, for all manner of injustices in our lives, in our communities, indeed in the world. How often do we say ‘sorry’ to Jesus for doing so?

David waited years before he took his rightful place of the anointed young king. He had so much wrong done to him and he spent a large portion of his life on the run from king Saul, whom he was to replace. He heard of the slaughter at Ziglag on his return from the battlefield and how his wives and that of his soldiers were kidnapped along with their children and all their belongings and the enemies burnt the area down- it was utter devastation when David and his men returned.   He did not lose heart, he took it to God. He enquired “Lord what next? Shall I go after my enemies?” Many times we lash out or rush in two footed without thinking and things go horribly wrong. David trusted that the same God who had delivered him from so many difficulties and heartache, from wolves and lions, from different enemy armies and from a raging, jealous & murderous king, would once again, be his very present help in time of need & trouble. David’s God, the same God we serve & who loves us unconditionally, answered David emphatically “pursue, overtake and recover all”  you’ve had stolen from you and more! Today we have the same authority to walk in the victory Jesus Christ left for us. Not only must we walk in it but we must believe we are Overcomers because He overcame the world!

What are you fighting against? Is the enemy trying to steal your belief in Jesus, your spiritual life, your health, your family, your finances, your home, your job, in fact, your sanity? Whatever it is we are experiencing, let us enquire from God what our next step is to be, He will guide us & restore all that we have had taken or almost taken, from us. Friends, at times the wrestling, the storm, the valley of darkness, feels so much worse, & I can vouch for that!!! BUT GOD! He is Our very present Help, Our Good Shepherd, Our Defence, please encourage someone who going through a storm themselves with this reassurance that GOD WILL RESTORE. This is the season of Hope & Salvation, ‘the season of good will to all men’ (& women of course?). Let’s pursue , overtake & reclaim our lives, the good life ordained for us by Jesus Christ  before the foundation of this world! So what are we waiting on!? Emmanuel, God IS with us, we are NOT alone, please do not be afraid?

Have a blessed Christmas, much love to you in Jesus Precious name,

Samantha?

About Samantha Alexander

I am a born again Christian and I attend The Refuge Church of The Living God, St. Mary's, Clissold Park, North London. I come from an extremely large Christian family, being one of 8 children,'sibling' to many foster children & I'm married to a gorgeous serving Officer. We share two wonderful, at times a handful?, extremely talented & sporty children. We are blessed by the laughter & joy they bring us. My role in the Met is within the Specialist Crime Directorate and I have been a Forensic Practitioner for the past 15years. I have overcome much adversity with my health & had it not been for Gods hand upon me, my faith & good support from my family & really beautiful colleagues, I would have given up long ago.
God has positioned me here for such a time as this & He has now opened this wonderful door to London Christian Police Family.
I love to laugh & encourage people around me & my joy definitely springs up when we can smile through our storms. May God ever bless you, Samantha?
