“But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.” 2Timothy 2:20 KJV
We have been talking about the Parable of the Talents and using them to be ‘Doers’; workers for the harvest of souls for the Kingdom of God. What does Jesus require from us in order for Him to use us? Are we at the place of honour? Can our lives reflect Him in all we do? Did you know your calling was not by ‘chance’? ‘Psalms 100′ tells that God made us & in ‘Jeremiah 1 ‘ He confirms that ‘I knew you before I formed you & placed you in your mother’s womb’. In ‘Romans 8’ Pauls said “Whom He predestinates, then He called and whom He called, then He justified whom He justified, then He glorified”; meaning you were meant to come into the Family of God, adopted into The Beloved, the seed of Abraham. Then He justified why us through His purpose in our lives if we answer His call. We have a choice, we can accept God’s invitation or calling or reject Him. He will never force us.
PHEW! Consider that! “JESUS WANTS ME?” Yes, YOU & ME. He does not care about the condition or state we come to Him in but once we are arrive in His arms & His presence, He changes us. He cleans us up. He requires Holiness. He requires us to be the vessel of honour that The King of King deserves to use & pour His Holy Spirit into.
Remember Jesus speaking to disciples about wine in old bottles? He said you do not pour new wine into old bottles as the remnants and dregs would taint the new wine giving it a sour & bitter taste. So it is with us, He calls us, then He sanctifies & purges us, removing all the dross and remnants of the ‘old us’, the ‘former man/woman’ the malice, the lust, addicted, gambling, bad stewards, bad parents, bad children, hatred, bitterness, negativity thoughts, murmuring and moaning about everything, ungratefullness doubt, idol-worshipping, unforgiveness, anger, murder, war-mongering, demonic forces, unworthy because of the things we did or do- everything that hinders us from being pure – vessels of honour- at His Table, His Banquet prepared for that “Marriage Supper of The Lamb” in ‘Revelation 19’. We are ‘new creations‘ new vessels, Wedding Service gold standard dinner service not just Christmas Day service, we are wedding standard to be use daily walking & living in His righteousness, giving & serving Him the best, with all our will. We must die to the lust of this flesh & walk in the Spirit. I don’t know for you but for me presentation is key, the detail is important and daily I am learning that I need to drop off things that prevent me from being the most best & most beautiful vessel on My Lord & Saviour, My Master, My King’s Table, ready for Him to use me & present me blameless. I can only do this by staying in The Word of God, confessing my sin- conscious yes, and unconscious. By fasting & praying talking, pleading some days for Jesus to save me & to save from myself. By not repeating the same mistakes because we will sin & we do fall but God calls us to walk in repentance. “If we confess our sins, He is faithful & just to forgive us”. Jesus said “go thy way and sin no more”. Today, the kings & queens of this earth have high protocol. It’s serous trouble if this protocol is no adhered to. The dinner service chosen for themselves, indeed to their guests is meticulously chosen, polished, refined before it is presented & arrayed in its beauty. Much more the The Living God -King Jesus. Doesn’t He deserved even more than this from us, so He can use us? Allow Him to put us back on His Potter’s wheel, remoulding us & removing the chips in our vessels, the cracks, the holes even, that make us unworthy. He knows just what to do, we only have to open our heart & mind to change. Having the mind always of Christ so we will remain changed. God bless you?
