“And his mouth was opened immediately, and his tongue loosed, and he spake, and praised God”??. Luke 1:64 KJV
The Mighty God displayed His excellence by loosing Zacharias’s tongue at the appointed time and immediately, he praised God. Initially, Zacharias didn’t believe what was said to him when he was told of his wife Elizabeth’s pregnancy, he laughed. He doubted so he was made dumb until an appointed time. When enlightenment came to him, when he saw the fulfilment of what the Angel of the Lord witnessed to him, he believed & immdeiteky his tongued was released. It not only praised God but his tongue testified of what was to come. His tongue witnessed of the promise given by God, spoken through His prophets, handed the seed of Abraham, written down by His own hand for our guidance. Zacarias, now filled with the Holy Ghost and under the demonstration, prophesied of how his chosen son, John the Baptist would grow, what he would do & how he would prepare the way of The Lord Jesus; “And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways; To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins, Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us, To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace“.
Today, do not doubt the power & might of our Lord God Jesus Christ. Our deliverance & victories await us but we are yet to receive because we do not believe. Zacharias didn’t believe but when he did, everyone near & far knew about it. It was recorded by witnesses for our purpose today. Jesus said “blessed are they who have not seen but yet they believe”. We are so very blessed as we accept Jesus is God & He is our Lord & Saviour but it doesn’t stop there. We have work to do, we now have the commission to continue the work, not only of John the Baptist, in standing for righteousness & in leading souls to Jesus Christ but by doing the work of Him by being His hands & feet, being merciful, being peacemakers, visiting, praying & healing the sick, caring for those in prison and the poor, the lonely, the widows, sharing the testimonies of how we overcame or are overcoming & sharing the good news of the gospel of salvation through Jesus Christ. Let us walk in our God-given purpose, open our mouths & let everything within us, no matter what our circumstances may be, rejoice & praise The Lord????
