Today’s exhortation – Look at Me!

Have you noticed that as soon as you begin to pray, your mind gets filled with all sort of things? You suddenly remember things you missed off your shopping or the person who offended you three years ago or a painful incident. That was me last night. As I was praying, my mind was all over the place. It was full of distractions and worry. Suddenly I heard The Lord say, “Look at Me!” As He said that, I knew He was saying stop thinking about everything else and focus on Me! Then I heard Him say again, “Look at Me!” When I did, my mind became still and I felt peace all over me and then He said, “everything will be fine, just look at Me.”

I can’t tell you how peaceful I felt, I can only say peace like a river washed over my soul and it was well with my soul. I don’t know what you may be going through today or in this season, but I believe The Lord is saying “Look at Me! Everything will be fine.” Look at the Calmer of the storm! Though the waves billow and seas roar, He’s with us in this boat called life. He will say to it, “peace be still.” If you find you are already on the stormy water and are sinking, He will take your hand and lead you to safety. As the scripture says, “Be still, and know that I Am God; The LORD of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge.” (Psalms‬ ‭46:10-11‬). Amen
