Today’s exhortation – unimaginable blessings

The bible says, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love Him.” (‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭2:9‬). Note that it says, for those who love Him! And how do we know we love Him? Jesus said, “If you love Me, obey My commandments.” (John‬ ‭14:15‬). It seems fairly straightforward but of course it’s not easy. We see in Joseph’s life that loving God comes with trials and obeying comes with suffering but, the rewards are unimaginable. We also know that he put God first in the face of sexual temptation, treachery and betrayal and it cost him his freedom. But in return, God gave him more than he asked for.

All he wanted was to be released from prison so that he could go back to Canaan to see his father, but God took him from prison into a palace overnight and put all the wealth of Egypt at his disposal. Then God brought his father and all his family to him in Egypt. What’s more, he didn’t have to go looking for a wife, God gave him that too with two sons. I believe the lesson here is that if we put God first no matter the cost and don’t become weary in doing good, in due season, He will open the windows of heaven and pour on us so much blessings that there won’t be enough room to contain it. And, it will be the kind of blessings we never imagined. Amen
