Today’s exhortation – the joy of salvation

We’ve come to what I think is one of the best parts of Joseph’s story which is when he reveals himself to his brothers. It also shows us a picture of what happens when one receives Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. The bible says, “Then Joseph could not restrain himself before all those who stood by him, and he cried out, “Make everyone go out from me!” So no one stood with him while Joseph made himself known to his brothers.” (Genesis‬ ‭45:1). I believe what this is telling us is salvation is a one on one experience. Christ reveals Himself to us personally! The bible also says, “When the report was heard in Pharaoh’s house, “Joseph’s brothers have come,” it pleased Pharaoh and his servants.” ‭‭(Genesis‬ ‭45:16‬).

Jesus said, “Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” (‭‭Luke‬ ‭15:10‬). There’s rejoicing because, “The Lord is not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.” (2 Peter‬ ‭3:9‬). Also, after Joseph revealed himself to his brothers, Pharaoh said to them, “Bring your father and your households and come to me; I will give you the best of the land of Egypt, and you will eat the fat of the land.” (‭Genesis‬ ‭45:18‬). This is also one of the Father’s promises to anyone who repents and takes Jesus into their hearts as Lord. You will get the best of the land and will eat the fat of the land. Hallelujah! Amen!
