Leadership

Having recently been promoted and taken on a new role and a new team, I found myself on my knees in front of the Lord once again asking for help.  The Lord showed me the following passage from 2 Samuel 23:3-4

The God of Israel spoke, the Rock of Israel said to me:
‘When one rules over people in righteousness,
when he rules in the fear of God,
he is like the light of morning at sunrise
    on a cloudless morning,
like the brightness after rain
that brings grass from the earth.’

You see, when you rule (lead) in righteousness (you do the right thing no matter the cost) and you do it in the fear (love, respect, reverence, obedience) of God, you really are like the light of morning at sunrise on a cloudless morning, like the brightness after rain that brings grass from the earth to your team.  You are a leader that is not influenced by fear or favour.  This passage is taken from the last words of David who used this principle to make him one of the greatest known biblical leaders.

Lord, help to know that your ways are the right ways and to follow them, to always be looking to you for guidance in every situation and to reflect your glory.
